To maximize longevity and success, stand-alone screen completion should only be applied in clean, homogeneous sand stones with large well-sorted sand grains. The screen must be capable of filtering the larger formation sand [articles and promote establishment of permeable natural gravel pack, and in addition, the screen must be with maximum inflow area. If it is necessary, zonal isolation for water shutoff or other staged interventions may be achieved by using water or oil swelling packer in the open hole in conjunction with screens.

Running
